TallyFox (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the TallyFox mobile application, website, and related services (the “Services”).
By using TallyFox, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Nickname: We collect a user-chosen nickname to identify your account within the app.
- Financial Data (Local & Optional Backup): Account balances, transactions, budgets, and related financial information you enter into the app.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Device Data: Device type, operating system, app version, and crash/error logs (used solely for app functionality and improvements).
- Ads (Free Plan): Third-party ad networks may collect anonymous identifiers for advertising purposes.
- Premium Validation Data: For Premium users only, we collect and store your device ID and country in our Firebase database to verify your Premium status.
2.3 Google Drive Backups
TallyFox allows users to store backup copies of their financial data in their own Google Drive accounts:
- Free users: Backups are created manually by logging into Google Drive and pressing the backup button.
- Premium users: Backups can be set to run automatically if the user enables this option in settings.
These backups are stored only in your personal Google Drive. We do not have access to them.
2.4 Website Purchases
When purchasing Premium through our website, your device ID and country may be included in a unique link to confirm your subscription. You should not modify this link. Altering the information may result in Premium not being activated on your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the Services.
- Offer insights, reports, and budgeting tools.
- Display relevant ads (Free Plan only).
- Troubleshoot issues and enhance security.
We do not:
- Sell your data to third parties.
- Access your financial data remotely without your consent.
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Local Storage (Default)
All financial data is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain your financial data on our servers.
4.2 Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for securing your device and backing up your data. We are not responsible for data loss, theft, or breaches caused by unauthorized access to your device.
4.3 Google Drive Backups
If you choose to back up your data to Google Drive, the backup remains in your Google Drive account until you delete it. Deleting the app does not remove backups from your Google Drive. You are solely responsible for managing and deleting these backups.
4.4 Firebase Storage (Premium Users)
For Premium users, we store your device ID and country in Firebase solely for the purpose of verifying Premium status and managing subscription validity. Free users do not have this data stored.
5. Children’s Privacy
TallyFox is designed to be used by individuals of all ages, including minors, to promote financial literacy.
- For Minors: If you are under the legal age of majority in your country, you should use TallyFox with the supervision or consent of a parent or guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal data beyond the nickname and financial inputs required to use the app.
6. Third-Party Services
- Ads (Free Plan): Third-party advertising networks may display ads and collect anonymous identifiers.
- Currency/Data Providers: We rely on third-party sources for exchange rates and insights; accuracy is not guaranteed.
- Payment Providers: Premium subscriptions purchased via app stores or direct payment platforms (e.g., GCash) are processed by those third-party providers under their own terms and policies.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete your data stored on your device.
- Withdraw consent for optional cloud features (when applicable).
- File complaints with your local data protection authority.
8. Data Retention
Financial data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Logs and crash reports (if collected) are retained only as long as necessary for app functionality and legal compliance.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Significant updates will be notified within the app. Continued use of TallyFox constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
